The Costa Blanca is not much of a package holiday destination but is more of a place where one can book a villa holiday. Over the last fifteen years many people have bought second homes on the Costa Blanca which they are only too happy to rent out over the lucrative summer school holidays where they can command in excess of €1000 a week. Many of the resorts don’t have hotels but are very busy in the summer with people who are renting an apartment on a complex with a communal pool for the week or a villa with a swimming pool. This creates multiple opportunities for jobs in Spain for English-speaking workers.
One can still book an old fashioned package holiday to a destination such as Benidorm where one can pay for the entire holiday up front. One can book oneself into an all inclusive hotel, where all food, drinks and snacks are included as well as the entertainment. When one books a package holiday to Benidorm one has paid for the flights, accommodation, transfer and a meal plan to suit. It is quite possible to arrive in Benidorm and not spend any money at all, if one has chosen an all inclusive package holiday.
